queues...

Is it a British thing to queue??

We generally accept it and get on with the waiting in line…
Yet if you go to France, Italy etc they will not honour the queue, and will jump in ahead of you without question. As will old people!!

Jayne in college almost got thrown out of a phone box, by an old lady, (ok Jayne is 5 ft 2”, but this woman barged into the box, pressed the receiver button, and ordered her out!!! I thought war was going to occur!!

I remember in Las Vegas a couple of years ago, Jayne and I were walking past the Wynne hotel, and their taxi rank, a “fake – not so high – roller “ old timer yelled out “ they are jumping the queue !!” Eeerrr no! just walking past !!

So Anyhoo, I was in the bank today, 20 people ahead of me!! (Seriously) I do not get angry… irritated a little that more staff are not put on at their busiest time!! But not angry, I do not complain.

I am British… I stay calm… I queue.
Perhaps we need to be a little more assertive sometimes to get what we need, or perhaps we need to be more patience, ??

Did you get to the counter and there was just one person serving and three people standing around talking?
