Puree food

I need to learn to grab the digital camera quicker!! Darcy has started on solids….
Well I say solids
More like purees...
Apple, banana, chicken + pineapple etc

Last night was apple night!!
Darcy likes apple
BUT she has learned after a while
When she is full, she can pretend to chew
I say chew (no teeth yet, so gums are used!)
That she can spit the food out of the corner of her mouth!!
Sneaky!!
But we are wise to you Darcypops!!

Darcy is getting long!! Jayne is 5 foot 2”; Darcy seems to be half that length after 6 months!! She must take after me!! We may have a basketball player in the making!!

The smile in the morning is still the best though!! She sleeps with her legs in the air, arms behind her head, but when she wakes, smiles at you, it makes it all worth while!!

I must grab that digi camera faster; the camera phone is NOT as good!

part 3

Ok part 3……

(Jim you have a lot to answer for!!! Ha-ha…)

Setting timer….

Go

So the other woman, sat at her desk, 2 days had passed since her text to the man in the bar… no response... should she text him again... should she just put it down to blind curiosity, a chance meeting, or was there something in that meeting of minds ..??

She had had a bad day... no a terrible day, late for work, over slept again, missed the train, stuffed up an incredibly important meeting where her boss was trying to impress new clients… she hated her boss, she hated her boss with loathing, she had always been jealous of her, for some reason, she thought, which she could not put her finger on it.
Anyhow, she had decided to go for a drink after work to unwind, and forget the bad day, put it down to just a bad day, and move on. But then she had met the man, he seemed funny, in an off the cuff kinda “your new I do not know you but I find you interesting” kinda way.
They got on, they had a laugh, and a smoke, then he left after about an hour, he never wore a ring, never mentioned a partner, why, she thought was there any reason to not call him ??

But two days and no answer to the text… what was a reasonable time period for not answering…?? Maybe the number was wrong, maybe he was married,

She sat and daydreamed further, instead answering the incoming e-mails that blinked at her from the PC screen… Should…

The end again…..

So many twists so many turns…… who knows !!

Still wanting others to take up the challenge !!!

story in 5 minutes, part 2

Ok part 2…

I was not expecting comments wanting a part 2, due to the speed and poorness of the first part…!! But I cave in under weighty demand! (Well maybe not weighty)

(Again this idea is borrowed from my friend Jim; please check out the 5 part story and others on his page!! (Link from my homepage))

Ok here we go then,

Timer on again at 5 minutes….

The man paced around his apartment, it was a meagre flat really, simple in structure, a dividing glass block wall, and average 3 pieces. Nothing of note, really, but he regarded it as home.
He was not sure how long he had paced, or what to do... it had been a long 2 days he thought as he glanced out of the window, the view just skimming the roofs of the shabby suburb were he lived, he noted there was going to be a storm, like his mood really...

It had started so mundanely, he had gone for a drink… a drink. After work, what had happened was 1 drink turned into 2 which turned into quite a few, and the rest he was trying to download through his hazy memory…

He remembered a conversation with a girl, nothing special, just talking, drinks were bought, and they had a laugh and a joke,
He remembered phone numbers being shared, and he left…. He left alone...
The problem had been the text message early morning... NO the problem had been his girlfriend of some 4 months 23 days ( she liked to remind him) picking the phone up and reading the message as he slept…. He remembered shouting , a bag being hurriedly packed, and doors slamming, before he had chance to come to his senses, and clear the alcohol haze from his head..,

He had read the message, asking to meet again if he was free… Ohhh no, his calls to his girlfriend unanswered for 2 days now…..

Ok stop!!

Now please I need others to try this little experiment... Come on blog in 5 minutes or as close as you can!!

queues...

Is it a British thing to queue??

We generally accept it and get on with the waiting in line…
Yet if you go to France, Italy etc they will not honour the queue, and will jump in ahead of you without question. As will old people!!

Jayne in college almost got thrown out of a phone box, by an old lady, (ok Jayne is 5 ft 2”, but this woman barged into the box, pressed the receiver button, and ordered her out!!! I thought war was going to occur!!

I remember in Las Vegas a couple of years ago, Jayne and I were walking past the Wynne hotel, and their taxi rank, a “fake – not so high – roller “ old timer yelled out “ they are jumping the queue !!” Eeerrr no! just walking past !!

So Anyhoo, I was in the bank today, 20 people ahead of me!! (Seriously) I do not get angry… irritated a little that more staff are not put on at their busiest time!! But not angry, I do not complain.

I am British… I stay calm… I queue.
Perhaps we need to be a little more assertive sometimes to get what we need, or perhaps we need to be more patience, ??

5 minute story...

Ok, this is new territory for me….

My friend Jim (sorry I have not learned the shortcut to his page) see my myspace homepage (Jim…The other white meat!) has done stories timed in 5 minutes, that’s it 5 mins” and STOP writing. Put your pens down!! “So I thought I would try it! The moment I decided to try it, then my mind kept thinking of what to write (NOT THE IDEA OF THE BLOG) so mostly this is not pre-conceived ideas….

(Before you try to patent the idea … Jim and I have patent pending on the Speed blog idea…) Ha-ha

Ok 5 minutes….

And go…

So the woman left the bar, it was a warm , yet thundery evening, not that noticed as she breathed deeply through her nose, letting the Southern Comfort softly burn…
She walked off down the street as it started to rain, lightly at first, on her arms, like his touch 2 nights earlier, but she didn’t pay much attention to it, she knew she was going to get wet; the clouds were starting to look menacing, and black, like her mood.
Dam she thought I should have worn a coat, the soft rain now turning to a downpour, the tail lights on the stationary rush hour traffic winking on and off in the rain like the bedroom clock 2 mornings before, only now she thought the rain might wash the anger away… it didn’t !
The pain of 2 days ago was too much to bear, so she had walked out and left him, and kept walking for 2 days, 2 days…. She thought she hadn’t gone for 2 days had she... yes. She had just not noticed the time, or where she was, maybe that was the drink, maybe the empty feeling inside the feeling of nothing-ness, not even hate, or wanting to get even, but that might come.
She was walking into people through people, barging them out of the way almost, walking with purpose, but not sure what the purpose was……..

Ok that’s it... stop!!

Shit that was harder than I thought…. Perhaps a comedy though next time !

Either planning or practice is needed!!!

Take up the challenge, and try it, let’s get everyone writing!!

5 minutes mind that is all!!
